More than six billion euros from EU funds for new projects in education, entrepreneurship, transport infrastructure, health, cultural, and natural heritage.
Today, it is hard to imagine Croatia without thousands of projects co-financed from EU funds. A panoramic walk on the Skywalk on Biokovo, a faster arrival home thanks to the new Zagreb rotor, a trip to the south of Croatia without crossing the state border, enjoying performances in the renovated Small Roman Theater, an escape to the world of imagination and games in the gaming center in Novska, modern student dormitories, business incubators, numerous investments in science and innovation, as well as in our rich cultural and natural heritage. However, none of this would be possible without Croatia’s membership in the European Union and european grants.
The Director of the Central Finance and Contracting Agency (CFCA), Dragan Jelić, said that when communicating about EU projects, we usually highlight their monetary value. However, the value of projects is much greater when the unit of measurement is the well-being and improvement of the lives of our citizens.
“I’m sure you’ll agree – then she’s immeasurable! Thousands of EU projects have significantly influenced the development of local communities and contributed to the economic development of Croatia. Creating new jobs, ensuring better transport connections and education, more efficient healthcare and entrepreneurship… Therefore, through the campaign “Which EU project can you not imagine Croatia without? “ CFCA wants to show the diversity of investment areas in Croatia”, said Jelić, thanking all the users for partnership cooperation.
Each of us is surely familiar with at least some of the EU projects, which through their implementation have had a positive impact on the quality of everyday life, so you can give your answer via the survey “Which EU project can’t you imagine Croatia without?”.
The announcement of the projects without which Croatia is unimaginable today will be held at the “Days of Regional Development and EU Funds” conference, organized by the Ministry of Regional Development and EU Funds.
CFCA has contracted more than 1200 projects from the Operational Program “Competitiveness and Cohesion 2014 – 2020” with beneficiaries, each of which contributes to local and regional development in its own way.
