The final ceremony of the project “Technical Assistance to Transport Operational Structure in identification and assessment of projects“

This is the second technical assistance project co-financed by the European Union as part of the IPA pre-accession programme. The Project was coordinated by the Ministry of Maritime Affairs, Transport and Infrastructure. The objective of this 549,200 EUR worth project was to prepare Croatia for effective management and absorption of the IPA assistance programme and to enhance Croatian capacities for efficient use of structural funds and cohesion funds after accession to the EU” said Mrs. Katarina Čop-Bajde in her welcominng address and stated that the Project set up an expert group of team leaders within the Operational structure, who will be able to analyze on an independent basis all aspects of traffic infrastructure projects to be proposed for EU co-financing.  

“This team will in particular assess eligibility of projects for financing in the context of the proposed priority axis and to interpret all constituent parts of such projects, including cost-benefit analyses, environmental impact assessments, feasibility studies etc.” said Čop-Bajde.

Results and recommendations of the Project were presented by Gabor Kende, the project team leader of the BalCon Consulting in consortium with DRI Investment Management from Slovenia and Mikro Project from Croatia, supported by KIKSZ Transport Development from Hungary. “The expert team attended a series of on-the-job trainings, seminars and a study trip to Budapest, where they met with the representatives of the Hungarian management authority and other relevant experts and exchanged experience”, the project team leader informed.
