The Croatian Parliament\’s debate on utilisation of the EU pre-accession fund IPA

Marija Pejčinović Burić, on behalf of Croatian Democratic Union Club, stated that IPA is a new programme available to Croatia from 2007 until Croatia enters the EU. IPA fund is, among other areas, available for support to agricultural and rural development and the allocated amount from 2007 to 2010 for this area is 741 million kuna, Pejčinović Burić emphasised. Pejčinović Burić also said that this agreement enables the utilisation of the EU funds from 25 and 26 million euros for implementation of acquis communautaire, in the field of agriculture and the rural area development.

Hrvoje Dolenec, State Secretary of the Central Office for Development Strategy and Coordination of EU Funds, stated that the total value of \”Regional Competitiveness\” programme is 339,4 million kuna for period of 2007 to 2009, and from IPA fund is allocated 254,5 million kuna and the rest of 84,8 million kuna is co-financed from the State Budget for the period from 2009 to 2012.

For the Operational Programme \”Environmental Protection\” 513, 6 million kuna is allocated – 358,2 million kunas from the EU funds, whilst 128,4 million kunas is co-financed from the State Budget. For \”Transportation\” programme 553,8 million kunas is allocated – 373,9 million kuna from IPA fund, whilst 179,9 million kuna comes from national co-financing – Dolenec explained.

Members of the Parliament from Croatian Democratic Union, Socialist-Democratic Party and Istrian Democratic Assembly gave their support to the laws proposed. (Hina)
