Opening ceremony for the EU funded Twinning light project “Support for participation in the ECAA – European Common Aviation Area"

The specific objective is to strengthen the international aviation standards in the Republic of North Macedonia through legislative approximation and improve the institutional capacity and technical competences of the Civil Aviation Agency of the Republic of North Macedonia in line with the EU Acquis in the field of aviation and the EU policy of creating a European Common Aviation Area. Minister of Transport and Communications of the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia, Mr Goran Sugareski, thanked the EU for its support through this project and highlighted the importance of creating a modern, secure civil aviation area of the Republic of North Macedonia. Head of cooperation at the EU Delegation to the Republic of North Macedonia, Mr Nicola Bertolini, State Secretary in Ministry of the sea, transport and infrastructure of the Republic of Croatia, Mr Tomislav Mihotić, and Director General of the Civil Aviation Agency of North Macedonia, Mr Tomislav Tuntev, also addressed the audience. Mr Tuntev pointed out the main project results and accentuated the established successful and long-standing cooperation between the two agencies. The Beneficiary Country Project Leader, Ms Maja Vaskova-Kjulavkovska, and the Member State Project Leader, Mr Zlatko Širac, presented the project components.
