More specifically, the project aims at further development of the Public Internal Financial Control (PIFC) system through improvement of legislation, elaboration of methodological tools in financial management and control and internal audit, building up capacities of budget users on central and local level to manage efficiently public funds and enhancing the co-ordination and supervision role of the Central Harmonisation Unit of the Ministry of Finance. At the opening ceremony Mr Dragan TEVDOVSKI, Ph.D., Minister of Finance highlighted the importance of the project and thanked the Twinning partners for their cooperation. H.E. Danijela BARISIC, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Croatia stated that Croatia firmly support endeavours of the Beneficiary Country on that European path and that transferring knowledge and expertise of the Croatian experts who were part of our negotiation process is an important tool of Croatia\’s foreign policy. Mr Freek JANMAAT, Counsellor, Head of Section Economic issues, Institution-Building, Cross-Border Cooperation, Delegation of the European Union addressed the participants on behalf of the EU which provided the funds for implementation of this important project.The Beneficiary Country Project Leader Mr Trajko SPASOVSKI, Ministry of Finance and the Member State Project Leader Ms Danijela STEPIC, Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Croatia presented project’s objectives, activities and expected results.
